TERMS OF USE – GAME & FORUM:

Summary:

1. Don’t be a jerk/jackass, etc

2. Don’t buffbot or dual log.

3. Don’t share/trade/sell accounts.

4. Don’t AFK while your character does stuff.

5. Don’t cheat.

6. Don’t violate the spirit of these rules with workarounds.

7. Failure to comply will result in punishments.



1. Don’t be a jerk:

We want everyone to have a good time here and as such when you are on the forum, or in the game, the entire staff asks you to follow basic principles of respect. This should mean politeness, courtesy and patience towards your fellow players and the staff. Being immersed in a social world, these rules are essential to a good server atmosphere.



In this context, any harassment of a player, insults or vulgarities will be immediately punished.



Included in this are your character names and forum nickname, and as such:

It is forbidden to choose a nickname that may be considered inappropriate according to this list:

- No pedophilia.

- No racism.

- No violence, sexual content.

- No obscenity or vulgarity.

Please use common sense – names that “sound like” words that apply to any of the above may be punished as well.



2. Don’t buffbot or dual log:

You are only allowed to have one account here on Origins which also means you’re allowed to play only one realm.

Can you buff your friend? Yes, as long as you are both actively playing.



Violation of this rule will have severe penalties.



If you play as a family (husband and wife etc) from the same IP address you can apply for a Family Link by contacting our Staff OR using the Multi-account tool.



[Note] All accounts sharing an IP address MUST be in the same realm

.

However, we will test to confirm that you are two separate players from time to time.



3. Don’t share/trade/sell accounts:

The problem with sharing accounts is that it makes it almost impossible to determine who is playing the account, and thus both players (and both their accounts) become responsible for any misconduct on either account. Be safe and just don’t do it. This also means that it is against the rules to trade/sell accounts.



4. Don’t AFK while your character does stuff:

———————————————————-

In short we don’t want you helping yourself or helping others (buffbot) while you are not active at the keyboard.



Some examples include:

Being AFK and letting your pet kill things around you to farm.

Being AFK and using a macro program to craft for you.

Being AFK and getting powerleveled by another player.

Being AFK for an excessive amount of time within a group (as above).



It’s unavoidable that group members will need to AFK from time to time. If you think you’ll be gone more than 5 minutes either leave the group or ask your group leader to boot you after 5 minutes and rejoin when you return.



5. Don’t cheat:

Don’t use any sort of cheat programs, whatever their nature. To do so will result in a permanent ban.



Some examples include:

Radar

Macro crafting

Speed hacks



6. Don’t violate the spirit of these rules with workarounds:

If you do things that aren’t specifically stated here but obviously fall into the spirit of the rules you may be punished for it.



For example if another player asks for some help transferring money between their characters and you agree to help them and just take their money you’re a jerk and may be punished.



7. Failure to comply will result in punishments:

The staff reserves the right to punish players as we see fit. Repeated offenses will only increase the severity of the punishment. The punishment for using a cheat program is a permanent ban.
