During an Officer's meeting, we discussed the topic of Recruiting in an attempt to formalize some guidelines for recruiting new members. Here is a Summary of what was determined to be good general guidelines:
#1: Real life friends and family are always welcome, but you are responsible for judging whether or not said person has such maturity and character that he or she will not bring dishonor upon the guild.
#2: No spamming of chat channels in an attempt to recruit new members. Additionally, persons who spam chat channels with "looking for guild" will not be considered for membership.
#3: All "stranger" potential recruits will be evaluated on an individual basis by an officer. This usually occurs during the normal course of gameplay - grouping, socializing, rvring, etc...
Overall, this represents an "Open but selective" recruiting policy that keeps the guild "small and tight" but not too small.
